In Her Shoes: Marceline
Every heart holds a story. Story is how we learn, relate, and how we know that we are not alone. We share these stories of amazing women around the world to learn what it is like in their shoes.
Today we are honored to introduce you to Marceline. She is from Rwanda, and hopes to be part of our expanded job training program in her village. Grab a cup of tea, open up your heart, and let Marceline tell you what it is like to be IN HER SHOES.
…
I dated a man who said he loved me, then three months later he wouldn’t even talk to me. He left and I waited for him for two years.
Eventually I met another man and we married. He brought me to the capital city of Kigali. We rented a house, we had a baby, and we lived peacefully.
Three years later, my husband left our baby and me at home. He would come home for a short time and things seemed good, then he would disappear when it was time to pay the rent. I had to struggle and find ways to pay the rent. I had a second child with him, but then he left us again. This time he has been gone for four years and I don’t know how he is doing or where he is.
My children have no father, and this makes life difficult for them. It is hard for them to study and get good grades. We live in a rental house, but it is hard for me to pay the rent. I am doing the best I can for my children, but it is hard with no support.
My greatest HOPE is that God may do something special in my life and my children’s lives.
